Yesterday I received my Apple iPod touch device. This is the most beautiful, elegant and intuitive device I have ever owned. It simply knocked my socks off.  It is similar to iPhone without the phone part.  I transferred my music from iTunes, copied all my photos onto the device, checked out my own website on the Safari browser and amused myself with some video on YouTube. No user manual required. No call to customer service required. No need to visit any website or forum to figure anything out. There is a lesson here that is obvious but nevertheless worth stating:

Design your products so that they don’t require customer support.
